AUDITION DATE: SATURDAY, MAY 30, 2009
TIME: Actors will sign up for either of two sessions on Saturday, May 30. Session One is 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and Session 2 is 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Please sign up for either of these sessions and plan to stay for the entire session.

THOMAS COOKWORTHY (30’s – 40’s) Apothecary, and personal banker
GILBERT (GIL) SHAKESPEARE (14, going on 40.) Will’s younger brother.
MARY SHAKESPEARE (30’s) Shakespeare’s mother, pregnant
WILLIAM (WILL) SHAKESPEARE (16) Earnest, comic innocence, a poet and dreamer
JOHN SHAKESPEARE (30’s – 40’s) Shakespeare’s father, alderman, borough ale-taster, good friend.
ANNE HATHAWAY (EARLY 20’s) Will’s true love.
YOUNG OTHELLO, (LATE TEENS, AFRICAN AMERICAN) A soldier and escaped slave, martial arts expert.
OLDER HARLOT (40’s) Mistress Quickly
YOUNGER HARLOT (EARLY 20’s) Laundress
ROBERT SILVANUS (30’s) Friend and business partner to John Shakespeare.
PORTIA (20’s) Silvanus’ lovely bride.
ROTATING PLAYERS (VARIOUS AGES) 3 males, 2 females to act as stage hands, pirates, members of wedding party, sailors, trial spectators, etc.
WHAT TO PREPARE
The auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Just be prepared to have fun!

PERFORMANCE DATES
SHAKESPEARE’S BROTHER will play four performances. July 17 and 18 (Friday and Saturday) and July 24 and 25 (also Friday and Staurday) at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for all performances are going to be $5.28 in conjunction with the City of Denver’s 5280 Program.
REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will begin Monday, June 1st. Actor’s should expect between 2 – 4 rehearsals per week depending on the role.
SYNOPSIS: SHAKESPEARE’S BROTHER is an adventurous family comedy that presents the two fiercely opposite teen Shakespeare brothers who join together in a series of comic adventures that weave real life people from Shakespeare’s life with fictional characters from his plays.
Town Hall Arts Center will hold auditions for GREASE on Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 12- 5pm. Callbacks will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009 from 6-10pm.
This production will be directed and choreographed by Nick Sugar with musical direction by Donna Debreceni.

All positions are paid.
Actors should prepare 24 bars uptempo and ballad appropriate to the show and a 1 minute comic monologue. Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. No taped music or acappella allowed. Please bring TWO current headshots and resumes.
Rehearsals begin on August 9, 2009.
The show opens September 18, 2009 and runs through October 25, 2009.
The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will hold auditions for Miss Saigon on Tuesday, May 26 and Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Arvada Center. This production will be directed by the Center’s Artistic Producer Rod A. Lansberry.
Auditions will be held on May 26 and 27 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Auditions are by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling

Experienced performers with strong acting, singing and dancing abilities are needed. This is an Equity LORT B production, although non-equity actors may audition. Ethnic minorities and cultural varieties are encouraged to audition for all roles. Actors should prepare 16 – 32 bars of up-tempo pop musical theater appropriate to the production.
Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. No taped music or acappella allowed. A current headshot and resume are required.
Equity members must have a current ID card.
Rehearsals for Miss Saigon begin on August 25, 2009. The show opens September 15, 2009 and runs through October 11, 2009, Tuesday through Saturday evenings with matinees on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays for a total of eight shows per week.
